Important Distinction for Pharmathen

Pharmathen is among the top research companies in Europe

Pharmathen is the leading Greek company in research investment, according to “The 2009 EU Industrial R&D Investment Scoreboard,” as announced by the European Commission on 16/11/09.

Moreover, Pharmathen is placed in the 355th position, amongst the 1000 largest research companies in the EU of all sectors, improving its position 330 places in comparison to last years European report.

In the same report respectively, Pharmathen is classified in the 30th place, based on research investments among the 4577 pharmaceutical companies that are active in the EU.

This distinction is just the most recent of a series of distinctions in 2009 for Pharmathen. In April, Pharmathen’s President Mr. Vasilios Katsos was declared “Greek Entrepreneur of the Year 2008” and “Most Dynamically Developing Entrepreneur” by Ernst & Young. While in September, the company was awarded at the 74th International Fair of Thessalonica, in the category “Investment Leaders-Greek investments in Greece.” These latest accomplishments for Pharmathen came as a result of the company’s high growth rates and its strong export orientation, and they demonstrate Pharmathen’s intense and dynamic development.

Pharmathen, having in its capacity 3 modern research centers in Greece and abroad and 3 manufacturing units, develops pharmaceutical products and know-how which, in turn are exported to more than 85 countries world wide including all members states of the European Union, the United States of America, and Canada.

Through important investments, the company today is the largest private research organization in Greece and one of the largest in Europe. Pharmathen currently is holding 30 international Patents, and at the same time has formed many innovative and strategic alliances in the Greek and in the international markets, thus providing Greek technological know-how globally.
