Today, Pharmathen is one of largest companies developing Generic drugs in Europe. The activity covers all the development stages including pre-formulation studies, formulation at pilot level and industrial level. At the same time the development is supported by the advancement of analytical methods and in addition by studies of validation and stability.

The activity is sheltered by an autonomous research and development laboratory. Our trained crew of specialized scientists and technicians, together with the state of the art equipment, setup in a GLP/GMP compliant environment, ensure the effective, on time completion of projects.

In parallel, the research laboratory is supported by the industrial unit of Pharmathen at Pallini Attiki at the scale-up level of the industrial batches. Scaling up includes the application of modern control techniques, like Statistical Process Control and Process Capability Analysis, so that each process is fully evaluated and validated

The activity is also supported by specialized teams of experts in matters of patents and for planning clinical studies and bioequivalence. The annual capacity of development is currently 10-12 molecules with basic principle high quality and the implementation of innovative series of patents. The whole activity is followed up with full coverage by the company’s Regulatory Affairs Department and later by Production.
