Pharmathen's global activities are co-ordinated by the departments of Business Development and Planning & Logistics. The aim is to grow Pharmathen's international business and reputation within the industry and to make the company Europe's leading developer of generic products by the end of 2008, a task we are currently well on track to achieve.
The global activities of Pharmathen are divided into two distinct parts, those countries where their economies and pharmaceutical markets are well developed, and elsewhere where the economies and markets are in a developing stage.
In the developing markets we operate through agents and distributors, through whom we sell Pharmathen's products on the local market. We are currently active in 35 countries and we are currently selling more than 35 products, both from our long established range of products and our new development projects. These operations and the variety of products available continuously increase.
In the developed markets such as in Europe, Australia, Canada and South Africa, we licence out our developments to the major pharmaceutical companies. In these markets our clients seek products where they can be on the market immediately following patent expiry, and are thus keenly interested in our development projects which we can offer for licensing at least four years before basic patents expire.
Our clients range from the largest multi-national generic companies such as Sandoz, Ratiopharm, Sanofi, Nycomed and Merck, to smaller domestic clients active only within their own national borders.
We are currently active in 84 countries with more than 3000 Marketing authorisations already granted or in process of registration. The number of clients and registrations is set to grow dramatically as new products from our R&D department become available for marketing. Our most recent success has being to gain entrance to the United States, the world's largest pharmacheutical market. |
