Due to the nature of its function the department of Research and Development works closely with all other departments of the company that are involved in the processes of design, development and implementation of new products.

Pharmathen's aim is to become a leading development company within the E.U., and for that purpose we invest more than 15% of our annual turnover in Research and Development.

The Research and Development activity of the corporate group of Pharmathen is presented with a vertical organization including research to the level of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients and the research and development of finished dosage forms. The activity is supported by two autonomous and self-reliant research laboratories.

As a result of our highly professional Research and Development activities, several patents have been filed as PCT applications and afterwards granted by the European Patent Office (EPO) and the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

In collaboration with the leading Universities and Research Centres across the E.U. we are always up to date with the latest technological developments in the pharmaceutical industry in order for us to be able to develop and offer value added health care products and services to our partners.
